Dear Troon Coaches ,
The Troon Coaching Summit 2024 , held October 14 – 15 , was a tremendous success . Many thanks to Steve Loesher and Doug Hammer for hosting the event at Troon North . Over two days , we engaged with Troon Coach partners , PGA educators , and industry leaders dedicated to enhancing our expertise .
Highlights included : Chuck Cook : " Three Imperatives " of Impact , Plane , and Sequence . SportsBox AI : The power of 3D coaching technology . Vision 54 : " Be Your Own Best Coach ." Mike Malaska : Myths and misconceptions in golf instruction . True Spec Golf : Insights into club fitting for irons , woods , and putters .
This summit reinforced the importance of a coach ’ s " toolbox ," which should include expertise in club fitting , biomechanics , fitness , short game , and mental coaching . These tools are essential for providing top-tier instruction .
Looking ahead , I ’ m excited to launch “ Mahoney ’ s Minutes ,” a weekly series where we ’ ll explore key coaching topics with leaders in player development and Team Troon members . Be sure to keep an eye out for invitations .
