Due to “economic growth” in low-middle income countries motorization has increased.(source) This means that there is generally more transportation needed for the movement of resources and more people need to get back and forth for their jobs and this leads to more vehicles on the roads. The World Health Organization states that the difference between death rates in high versus low income countries is dramatically disproportionate with the low income countries having the highest amount of vehicle related deaths. Yet, the poorer countries have a significantly less amount of vehicles on the roads in comparison to the wealthier countries.
