Safety must be one of our top priorities when designing new roads and transportation infrastructure. If we take a look at the death toll on the roads worldwide the numbers are quite staggering. Shockingly, auto traffic fatalities are the leading cause of death amongst young people (ages 15-29) and the 9th leading cause of death amongst all people, globally.

At this rate it is predicted to become the 5th leading cause of death by 2030. Not to mention the estimated 50 million people who suffer from serious injuries and life-long impairments every year!
