Marina and

the Diamonds

ELECTRA HE

HEART

by: Ivo Vieytes.

I

found Marina like 3 years ago on Youtube with her single video I Am Not A Robot, and I immediately thought "Wow, this woman is amazing" and it's true, because Marina is so

talented. For the people that doesn't know her, Marina Diamandis is a welsh singer-songwriter who started her career releasing 3 EPs Mermaid vs Sailor, The Crown Jewels and The American Jewels, (with help of Neon Gold Records) & then she signed with 679 recordings and released The Family Jewels, her first studio album. Now, she has released her second studio album 'Electra Heart', which, in my opinion, should be the album of the year. This album is perfect in all sense, because it fits the concept in every way. Marina said that Electra Heart "is the antithesis of everything that I stand for. And the point of introducing her and building a whole concept around her is that she stands for the corrupt side of American ideology, and basically that's the corruption of yourself. My worst fear—that's anyone's worst fear—is losing myself and becoming a vacuous person. And that happens a lot when you're very ambitious."

So with this "self-review" that she made we can easily know this album is full with a concept that is not that easy to represent. However, she achieved it.
