Bruce Wilcox , Muir , PhD ’ 80 , taught conservation biology and environmental sciences as an associate professor of the human biology program at Stanford University in the 1980s . Throughout the early 2000s , he was professor and chair of ecology and health at the University of Hawaii . He is a founder of the field of conservation biology and the journal Conservation Biology , and was also the founding editor of EcoHealth and the first chief executive officer of the International Association for Ecology and Health .
MS , married Dr . Aleksandra Nowacka , PhD , in 1982 and writes , “ We have two daughters . I worked at the U . S . Department of Navy lab in Panama City , Florida . I retired at the end of 2012 . Sadly , my wife died of cancer in 2014 . She worked as a grant writer for the Homeless Coalition , various municipalities and , finally , the Health Department , where she brought in 20 million dollars in grants . I will mourn her loss as long as I live . Hurricane Michael hit me October 10 , 2018 . It was a Cat-5 major hurricane and did a huge amount of damage . An imbedded tornado completely demolished the house across the street and one house over and deposited some of the pieces in my yard . My younger daughter remarked , ‘ One football field away .’ She nailed it . Our older daughter is married and has a son and daughter . I am very proud of them .”

Karen A . Mesce , Revelle , will be the next president of the International Society for Neuroethology . She is currently a professor at the University of Minnesota , Twin Cities , teaching in the departments of entomology and neuroscience .
1978
Marcia K . McNutt , PhD , was presented with the American Geosciences Institute ’ s highest award , the AGI Medal in Memory of Ian Campbell for Superlative Service to the Geosciences .
1982
Donna Brady , Muir , an attorney with more than 30 years of experience , joined Ballard Spahr law firm in their Los Angeles office .
