Campus came alive this fall with a record crowd of more than 4,000 people enjoying all the events of UC San Diego ’ s Homecoming . From concerts and reunions to thrilling sports and engaging talks , everyone came home for a chance to cheer , explore , reconnect and celebrate .
FARMERS ’ MARKET TAKEOVER :
Did you know that every Tuesday , UC San Diego hosts a Farmers ’ Market with local food vendors in Town Square ? Well , Homecoming supersized the fun with music , games and more — Andra Lew ’ 77 even brought dogs from her Love on a Leash organization .
HOMECOMING KICKOFF BBQ :
The weekend kicked off with a clean sweep on the soccer field — Tritons defeated competitors Chico State with 1-0 wins in both the Men ’ s and Women ’ s games as alumni cheered from the field at the signature Homecoming Kickoff BBQ . Junior Brett Jones ( pictured left ), an international business major , leads the victory celebration with fans .
