KPBS arts reporter and podcaster Beth Accomando ’ 82 spoke with comedian Ben Gleib ’ 00 about stand-up , politics and being seriously funny in the modern age . “ I was impressed by how passionate Gleib was about using humor as a means of addressing important issues , battling threats to our civil rights and speaking truth to power .”
Finance journalist Angel Au-Yeung ’ 13 wrote about a type of leader she doesn ’ t usually get to cover in the newsroom . “ I mostly interview business people , so it was refreshing to talk to a games designer . We talked about the culture of anime and manga in Japan and propaganda art — very different from the usual conversations I ’ m having about revenue and growth margins .”
Erika Johnson ’ 11 , an art history and criticism alumna , relished the chance to offer an inside look at the campus ’ newest additions to the Stuart Collection . “ Whenever I talk to Stuart Collection director Mary Beebe , I am enthralled . Her stories about how the sculptures came to be are fascinating . I only hope I can inspire just as much excitement about the growing collection for Triton magazine readers !”
