1972

Joyce Cutler-Shaw , MFA , had her artwork , “ Library Duet ,” displayed in exhibits at the UC San Diego Library and the Athenaeum Music & Arts Library in La Jolla .

1973

Thomas Whalen , Revelle , retired to become a novelist after a 30-year career as a research scientist at the Communications Research Centre in Ottawa , Canada .

1977

John Wagner , Marshall , retired from his career as a journalist and public affairs officer . He recently earned an MA in biblical studies from Trinity College and Seminary in Evansville , Ind .

1978

Nathan East , Marshall , was presented with a proclamation by the city of San Diego naming August 26 “ Nathan East Day .”

1981

Mark Schulze , Warren , is CEO of Crystal Pyramid Productions , a production company celebrating 36 years of business .

1982

Jon Lindo , Muir , is the owner of Skye Diamonds , a racehorse who won five out of her last six starts .

1983

Kirby Wright , Warren , won the Best Treatment Award for his work , Santa in Cyberland , and the Outstanding Achievement Award for Goodbye World , I ’ ve Gone To Bodie at the 2017 Calcutta International Cult Film Festival . His new book , At the Customs House : Poetry and Flash , was published through CreateSpace . Wright is a feature writer for the San Diego Reader .

1984

Annette Smith , MA , PhD ’ 91 , was selected as a member of the National Association of Social Workers Pioneer Program . After 40 years of social work , Smith is now retired and lives in Naples , Fl .

1985

Ken Davenport , Muir , MPIA ’ 90 , is co-founder and CEO of Mission Edge , a social enterprise consulting firm that works with nonprofit organizations . Davenport released his first novel , The Two Gates , published through CreateSpace .
Tim Freudenberger , Muir , was named one of the Best Lawyers in America by Best Lawyers . Freudenberger is a founding partner at Carothers DiSante & Freudenberger LLP .

1987

Adam Springer , Warren , was promoted to division vice president of engineering at Xtime , Inc ., a Cox Automotive marketing brand that works with automotive manufacturers .

1988

James Arra , Revelle , was promoted to co-president at LiveRamp , a software company in San Francisco .

1989

Justin Bookey , Warren , helped launch two startups : Carrot , an organization that encourages young students to go into STEM careers , and PongFit , a nonprofit organization that promotes fitness through ping pong .
