A group of students watch the UC San Diego baseball team as they face off against Cal State Monterey Bay in the campus ’ brand new Triton Ballpark . The facility opened in 2015 thanks to the generosity of alumni , faculty and friends . The ballpark boasts sunken dugouts , batting cages , permanent spectator seating , a press box and the Marye Anne Fox Clubhouse , named in honor of UC San Diego ’ s 7th chancellor .
