Hi there , I recently read your latest Triton issue that centered around fashion design and thought I would reach out ! I graduated from UCSD in 2004 in biology , ended up pursuing a career in design and founded my own women ’ s clothing business called Kamperett in 2015 . We manufacture all our pieces locally and with ethical and sustainable practices in San Francisco , where we are based and have a flagship store . Our pieces have been worn by many people we admire and respect , from Angelina Jolie , Rashida Jones , Ali Wong and Glenn Close , activists such as Alicia Garza ( BLM founder ) to principal ballet dancer Ben Freemantle . Hey there , I ’ m a UCSD alum , Marshall class of 2008 . I saw your article on “ What to Wear Up There ” regarding research on the Polarstern . I work for a heated apparel company and would love to donate a few heated garments to your researchers for their next trip . The brand is called Fieldsheer , and we ’ re actually based in San Marcos , Calif . The garments are lithium-ion battery powered , rechargeable , with many of them being Bluetooth-enabled , so you can control the heat from your phone .

Also , a correction : graduate student Beata Mierzwa ’ s scientific apparel is known as Beata Science Art , not Beata Science Designs , as printed .
