This spring , True Triton Weekend brought alumni volunteers and leaders from across the country to celebrate UC San Diego ’ s commitment to community service and advocacy .

01 . Actress and activist Milana Vayntrub ’ 08 gave the keynote at the Triton Leadership Conference , speaking about founding the movement # CantDoNothing and bringing awareness to the global refugee crisis .
02 . Chancellor Pradeep K . Khosla ( center ) and last year ’ s True Triton honoree , Jerrilyn Malana ’ 86 ( far right ), recognized three outstanding alumni for their service and ongoing commitment to UC San Diego : Steve Hart , MA ’ 80 ( far left ), Sue Hart , PhD ’ 86 ( center ) and Otis Watson ’ 76 ( photo # 4 ).

05 . Nearly 200 UC San Diego volunteers , including alumni , students , children and friends , gathered for a Day of Service at Zamorano Fine Arts Academy . Volunteers repaired planter boxes and planted herbs and vegetables , cleaned up the campus grounds and painted a colorful , oversized map of the U . S . in the outdoor lunch area .
