… CAMPUS ?

TOGETHER , VIRTUALLY

New ways for alumni to connect .

BY MALINDA DANZIGER ’ 00
So much of life has moved online , and connecting with your university and fellow
Tritons is no exception . The shift to virtual events came with a shift in mindset —
allowing for more creative and accessible programming that brought Tritons out ,
even while staying in . We ’ re in this together , and UC San Diego is here for its alumni .
↓ Tritons Connect The pandemic brought good reason for alumni to join Tritons Connect — especially to help our most recent class graduating into a world of uncertainty . It ’ s an easy way to lend your experience and advice to Tritons just starting out , be a mentor or find a mentor , get career coaching or join a group based on your interest or industry . More than 6,500 alumni are already on board . It ’ s free to join and an invaluable resource : tritonsconnect . com
↘ Triton Welcome Events The digital welcome mat was unrolled for UC San Diego ’ s newest class of alumni , as well as incoming students and their families . While the upcoming school year will certainly look different for
students , these events gave Tritons the chance to digitally connect to others in their region , provided updates from campus leadership , and shared advice , knowledge , and camaraderie between generations of Tritons .
↓ Storytime for Tritons Young Tritons-in-Training ( e . g . children home from school ) enjoyed spirited book readings by children ’ s book authors Marcie Colleen , a faculty member at UC San Diego Extension , and Dr . Michael Genhart ’ 84 . If you ’ re a children ’ s book author , be a part of storytime ! Reach out to : alumni @ ucsd . edu
