Marie Galaz , Roosevelt , was named principal of Bernardo Heights Middle School in San Diego . She was previously assistant principal at Del Norte High .
1999 Chris Andon , Muir , was named one of Portland Business Journal ’ s “ Forty Under 40 .” He works as a senior patent expert in the global digital innovation department of Nike , Inc .

2001 Joe Ames , Warren , is the
owner and winemaker of BK Cellars Urban Winery in Escondido , Calif .

is a kindergarten teacher at Rancho de la Nacion School in National City , Calif . She was selected as the National School District Employee of the Month in January 2017 .
Stayce Beck , PhD , was named a finalist for the Samuel J . Heyman Service to America Medals by the Partnership for Public Service for assisting with the creation of the first FDA-approved artificial pancreas .
Jenny Chien , Roosevelt , M . Ed . ’ 07 , was named one of the five 2017 California State Teachers of the Year . Chien teaches STEM classes , leads a fourth-grade journalism class , and runs the DREAMS lab at the Casita Center for Technology , Science , and Math in Vista , Calif .
Robb Kulin , MS , PhD ’ 10 , was selected as one of 12 members of NASA ’ s astronaut candidates for 2017 . At the time of his selection , he was senior manager for flight reliability at SpaceX .
Brandi Rhoads , Roosevelt , was named Ms . Vacaville 2017 at Solano County Pageants in Northern California . With this title , she hopes to advocate for women and share her experience with metastatic ( stage IV ) breast cancer .
