Carlos Velez-Ibanez , MA ’ 72 , PhD ’ 75 , was selected as corresponding member of the Mexican Academy of Sciences , the organization ’ s only foreign anthropologist . Velez-Ibanez has published 13 books and received numerous awards .
Larry B . Stotts , Muir ’ 72 , PhD ’ 88 , wrote an upper-division textbook , Free Space Optical Systems Engineering : Design and Analysis , published by John Wiley and Sons .
Rick Visser , Revelle , was elected to commissioner for Ada County , Id .
1976
Rudy J . Cerone , Muir , was appointed by the American Bankruptcy Institute to its newly formed Commission to Consumer Bankruptcy . He is a member resident in McGlinchey Stafford ’ s New Orleans office and co-chair of the firm ’ s financial restructuring , bankruptcy & creditors ’ rights team .

Beverly Geary , Revelle , and Mark Mummy , Revelle , MA ’ 83 , PhD ’ 85 , celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary . Mark retired from his career in geometric modeling software . They live with their son and daughter in Issaquah , Wash .
1979
Ran Anbar , Revelle , founded Center Point Medicine in La Jolla , offering medical hypnosis and counseling for children and young adults .
1981
Dick A . Semerdjian , Warren , is a trial attorney and founding partner of Schwartz Semerdjian Cauley & Moot , LLP in San Diego . He is a member of the National Judicial College ’ s Board of Visitors .
1982
George Szanto , Revelle , was recently promoted to senior lecturer at Fontys University of Applied Sciences in Eindhoven , Netherlands .
1983
Kirby Wright , Warren , won “ Best Feature Script ” by the Independent Horror Movie Awards for his screenplay , Goodbye God , I ’ ve Gone to Bodie .
1984
Michael Genhart , Muir , had five psychology picture books for children published by Magination Press , part of the American Psychological Association .
Julie Holloway , Marshall , was named one of the Silicon Valley Business Journal ’ s “ 100 Women of Influence 2017 .” She is an intellectual property litigation partner at Latham & Watkins LLP and co-chair of the firm ’ s San Francisco Litigation Department .
1985
Timothy Freudenberger , Muir , was named “ Attorney of the Year ” in Orange County , Calif . He is a founding partner of Carothers DiSante & Freudenberger LLP .
