[email protected] Confidentiality with Title IX Coordinators: Conversations with coordinators are kept as confidential as possible, but information about incidents of sexual misconduct must be shared with relevant administrators if the university needs to take action for reasons of community safety. In all cases, the wishes of the person initiating the conversation are given full consideration. SANCTION STATEMENT - The University will use a preponderance of evidence standard for resolution of alleged Title IX violations. All parties, including the complainant and the accused, will receive fair and equitable treatment and access to information in any resolution proceedings. - Any student found responsible under the preponderance of evidence standard for violating the policy on Non-Consensual or Forced Sexual Contact (where no intercourse has occurred) will likely receive a sanction ranging from probation to expulsion, depending on the severity of the incident, and taking into account any previous campus community standard violations.* Any student found responsible for violating the policy on Non-Consensual or Forced Sexual Intercourse will likely face a recommended sanction of suspension or expulsion.* Any student found responsible for violating the policy on sexual exploitation or sexual harassment will likely receive a recommended sanction ranging from warning to expulsion, depending on the severity of the incident, and taking into account any previous campus community standard violations.* - - Trine University promotes intellectual and personal development through professionally focused and formative learning opportunities, preparing students to succeed, lead and serve.
