I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space. “ J ust like the Galaxy, the Electronic Universe can be large and daunting. With so many routes, publishers, titles and articles out there it can be hard to know where to start. And when you get there, then what do you do? Firstly, as a member of staff in the Rotunda Hospital you are entitled to access all of our electronic resources which are available to you from home. Register with the library and we will provide you with an Athens username and password which opens up the Electronic Universe to you. Armed with your Athens account, your first port of call is the Library News Page. This webpage (link shown below) is the convenient launch pad for all of our online resources. From here you can access Electronic Journals which are all nestled together in the Journals A-Z. Simply click on the link and the Journals A-Z promptly opens in a new web browser. Then, it is just a matter of selecting the journal you’d like to view and navigating from issue to issue. If you ever have trouble accessing our Electronic Universe, Don’t Panic! Just let us know and we’ll help you find your way back. Publishers, Suppliers & Everything in-between Why so many? To get the best deal, we shop around for our resources meaning they don't all come from the one place. When you select a link to open a resource it can ultimately open a webpage to one of our many sources for example Ovid, EBSCO, Journals Consult, Wiley, Springer, BMJ or other individual publishers. Library News Page A few examples are shown here so that you can become familiar with the different web pages http://ovidsp.ovid.com/athens you will come across. ~ Geraldine Walsh Being Mobile On our travels we have noticed that the Mobile Version of journal sites can block, limit or even hide the Athens or Institutional Login which gives access to full text articles. If you find your access is restricted, find the link that will bring you back to the Full Desktop Site. The Athens or Institutional Login will then be accessible.
