The Subscription Agent and Publishers Role

S

ubscription Agents primarily act as intermediaries
between purchasers and the publishers of journals and
databases. Their work encompasses everything from
currency exchange to invoicing. Most agents maintain databases of
titles, title changes, prices, ISSN’s and issues per annum. In effect
they hold everything the purchaser needs to buy a subscription or
get access to a database. This information allows the librarian to
send an electronic order if desired. Our base for electronic
ordering is through EBSCO UK.
The agent for this subscription company acts as a go–between
between the publisher and the buyer. Th ^H
