Life in Laurel County thrived during 2021 , with many new and enhanced events that drew tourists and new residents to the area with promise that the trend would continue into 2022 .
The year 2022 rang in with fireworks as hundreds gathered on Main Street for the return of the New Year ’ s Eve party that features a lighted ball resembling the Times Square model as the crowd counted down the last seconds of 2021 .
