CHOOSING A PLATFORM
When deciding which solution works for you, we suggest that each option is fully explored in order to
make a choice that will lead to the highest return on investment. Demos are available for each platform
and these 30-minute tours are usually comprehensive enough to uncover whether or not the product
meets your company’s needs. Lots of options are out there, but either of these allow for an intranet
without IT assistance.
Once your list is narrowed down to a handful of options, get to know the company as best you can by
reading white papers, requesting more in-depth demos, and corresponding with current or past clients.
Each of the SaaS solutions has their own company culture that will become more apparent as more
research is done.
Tribe recommends choosing a platform whose company culture is most similar or complementary to
your own since, once the intranet building process begins, you will work closely with that company
to develop your collaboration structure and launch plan. Remember that by choosing an SaaS, you're
entering an extended partnership with that provider. A platform that has a culture opposite to your own
may lead to disagreements over recommended steps and processes and can lead to a dysfunctional
relationship down the road.
