SXSW (South By Southwest) is a music, film and interactive festival that takes place each year in Austin. The event attracts over 57,000 people over the span of three days. Over spring break, eighth grader Danielle Ellis attended the annual music festival for Raider Media Net. Here is her journal: Eazy G- Team* Johnny S 1975 The timpson Bad Sun s Young the Great Escape Giant G-Eazy I got to walk around Austin, attend concerts, talk to and meet the artists, and take the photos you see here. On the first night I saw Bad Suns out of California. You may know them from there hit single Cardiac Arrest. On the second day I went to the spotify house and saw G-Eazy, an up and coming rapper out of the Bay Area. I also got to catch Highland Park’s own Johnny Stimpson’s set at the Green Room . On the third day I saw Team* at the Pre-Kindle Showcase. Team* is made up of members of Forever the Sickest Kids, All Time Low and The Almost. Later that night Young the Giant performed. They are a band based out California, mostly known from their song Cough Syrup. On the fourth day I got to see The Great Escape at Lot 323. The tent held 1500 people who jammed out to the new album, which drops this summer. Later that night Bear Hands opened for The 1975 at Stubbs. Bear Hands is a post punk indie rock band out of New York City. After a thrilling performance by Bear Hands, The 1975 stole the show playing songs off their IV EP, including hit songs Chocolate and Girls. The 1975 is a band based out of Manchester, England.
