Accomplishments
Accomplishments
Since 2010 Spoke'n Revolutions Youth Cyclists have accomplished the
following:
• Presented to the National Park Service at a Network to Freedom regional meeting in
Wilmington, NC
• Recipient of the Triangle's Golden Spoke award
• Completed the almost 1800 mile cycling tour of the Underground Railroad. Mobile, AL
to Niagara Falls, NY
• Presented to the National Park Service at a Network to Freedom via Skype during the
Underground Railroad tour.
• Provided bike safety talks to Carrboro Elementary students
• Featured in National Park magazine fall 2011
• Interviewed on the "State of Things" with Frank Statio
• Co-sponsored the first ever Kidical Mass rides in North Carolina with the ReCYCLEry.
Three events to date.
• Presented at the Youth Bike Summit in NYC. A three day gathering geared around
youth, cycling, education and bicycle advocacy
• Hosted the Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival with the ReCYCLEry
• Marshals of the Chapel Hill Spring Roll community bike ride
• Completed almost 1800 miles of the Lewis&Clark and Pacific Coast trails
• Cheered as the first eight youth cyclists to complete the program successfully
transitioned off to college using the experience of the tours as some of their college
acceptance essay
• Featured in Adventure Cycling's 2013 Calendar
