Social Therapy Mag: Where are you from?
I was born in Goshen, NY, but moved to Jacksonville, FL, at 7. Spending most my life their, that's where I call "home".
Social Therapy Mag: How many mixtapes do you have out now, and do you currently have an album out?
I have an old mixtape called "My Own Worst". It's actually the first full length project I ever did, and every beat was original, but that's when I was finding my voice. All the songs are super dope, I have lots of stories and things like that on there, I just hadn't perfected my craft yet. My second is mainly all industry beats, it's a small 7 track joint called "Just A Taste". The one I'm finishing now, which to me is an absolute work of art, is planned to drop New Year's Eve this year.
Social Therapy Mag: Are you signed to any label? If not, what record labels would you sign with?
I'm not signed to any label, and I don't really want to be. If they offered a deal which I thought was worth the work I'd put in up til that time, maybe, but being Independent is what's on my mind. Creative control is more important to me in my career right now.
Social Therapy Mag: Who have you collabed with so far and who would you like to collab with?
I'm open for collaborations, I just haven't done many. I've always been more focused on bringing what I have to the table, and establishing my voice, but I've done some work with upcoming California artist Kidd Upstairs, both in production and lyrically. I've also worked with an artist from Albuquerque, New Mexico named Jawny Bad Luck.
Social Therapy Mag: What Producers would you like to work with?
Alchemist, Araab Muzik, Dilla (R.I.P), Khaled, MF Doom, RZA, Kanye, and Premier
Social Therapy Mag: Do you have any shows coming up?
Yeah, I put on at least 1 show every month in Jacksonville and Orlando. My Facebook page always has my upcoming shows
Social Therapy Mag: Do you have videos out?
I'm actually getting my first official video edited as we speak, for my single "2 Dutches". It should be out by the time this interview drops.
Social Therapy Mag: What do you want people to know about Progrest?
If it was between selling my soul to make it or sticking to what I believed and not, I'd walk away with my head held high.
