FLAVOURS OF RAJASTHAN A Taste of Tradition in the Heart of Vaughan and Toronto
Stepping into Krave Indian™ feels a little like crossing continents without ever leaving Vaughan. This cozy, charming, thoughtfully designed restaurant is the first in Ontario to shine a spotlight exclusively on Rajasthani cuisine, offering a warm and immersive introduction to one of India’ s richest culinary traditions.
The space is warm and inviting, designed with modern seating and thoughtful touches that reflect the region’ s artistic heritage. Bright colours, framed imagery, and subtle cultural elements create an atmosphere that is simple, comfortable, and full of character— perfect for relaxed dining with friends and family.
At the core of Krave Indian™ is a commitment to preserving the honesty of homestyle flavours, prepared using traditional techniques and time-honoured recipes that have shaped Rajasthan’ s culinary culture for generations.
The menu begins with classics that speak to the heart of the region. The signature Daal Baati Churma— baked wheat baati served with a beautifully layered five-lentil daal and a lightly sweet Churma— captures the comforting simplicity of the cuisine. For something crisp and satisfying, the Pyaaz Ki Kachori offers flaky pastry filled with warm, spiced onion and potato, paired with tangy chutneys that brighten every bite.
To experience the breadth of regional flavours, the Rajasthani Thali presents a generous and colourful spread.
The traditional vegetarian thali features Chaas, crisp Kale & Vegetable pakora,
Panchratna daal, raita, saffron rice, papad, crushed baati, roti, salad, Garlic Chutney, Ker( Berry) pickle and Churma, and other accompaniments— offering a balanced introduction to the flavours that define the state’ s culinary heritage.
For guests who enjoy non-vegetarian dishes, Krave Indian also offers a beautifully curated non-vegetarian Rajasthani Thali. Here, two iconic preparations replace the classic vegetarian gravies. The fiery Laal Maans, a deep-red lamb curry infused with the signature heat of Mathania chillies, brings forward the bold and rustic spirit of Rajasthan. Alongside it, the creamy and delicately spiced Safed Murgh, simmered in a luxurious yogurt, cashew and cream base, adds a regal contrast. Paired with the full traditional array of thali components, this version offers a hearty and immersive taste of Rajasthani cuisine for meat lovers.
With its welcoming atmosphere, heartfelt hospitality, and steadfast dedication to authentic flavours, Krave Indian™ has quickly become a favourite among diners seeking regional Indian cuisine. Whether you’ re exploring Rajasthani food for the first time or craving the comfort of familiar Indian dishes, Krave Indian™ offers a warm, flavourful experience worth returning to— and now, with multiple locations, the second one recently opened at 1690 Queen, St. W. Parkdale Village, Toronto, and plans for continued expansion, it’ s a culinary journey that’ s just beginning.
