Private-public partnerships facilitate housing development project

Housing affordability is an issue across the United States , and communities are searching for solutions . According to a 2024 report from the Joint Center for Housing Studies at Harvard University , the monthly costs of the median-priced home for the nation are the highest they ’ ve been in more than 30 years : $ 3,096 after taxes and insurance , assuming a 3.5 % down payment . In the first quarter of 2024 , the household income required for a median-priced home was $ 120,000 , up from $ 82,000 three years ago .
