He is a registered communications distribution designer ( RCDD ) and a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design accredited professional in building design and construction . He is a registered professional engineer in Minnesota , Wisconsin , South Dakota , North Dakota , Wyoming , Montana , Idaho , Washington , and Oregon .
SILEWSKI ELECTED TREASURER OF WI ASLA
Chris Silewski has been elected treasurer of the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects . Silewski is the landscape architecture supervisor within Ayres ’ Development Services Division . He supervises Ayres ’ Wisconsin-based landscape architecture group , delivering projects in the Midwest , West , and Southeast and providing leadership and collaboration for our team of economic development specialists , landscape architects , and urban planners while finding unique funding opportunities to make projects happen . He is based in Eau Claire .

WI ASLA represents more than 175 professionals , allied professionals , and students in the landscape architecture profession . Silewski first got involved in the Colorado chapter of ASLA in 2012 and managed the annual awards program for the chapter . He later got involved in the Wisconsin chapter and now looks forward to managing and verifying incoming and outgoing funds as treasurer . He also hopes to promote the profession through positive interactions with local committee members and communities .
Silewski is a licensed professional landscape architect in Wisconsin , Minnesota , and Florida . He holds a bachelor of landscape architecture and a bachelor of science in environmental design , both from North Dakota State University .
RURAL INNOVATION AWARD GIVEN
Ayres ’ consulting on economic development strategies for Upton , Wyoming , helped the community win the Western Planner 2022 Rural Innovation Award . Presented at the 2022 Western Planner Conference , the award recognizes the innovative work of smaller cities and towns .
The Town , in need of a community-wide economic development strategy , looked to Ayres for an innovative plan to create a spark and advance a vision . Ayres collaborated with the Upton Economic Development Board early in the process to assist with the writing of a grant application to the USDA Rural Business Development program . Once the grant was awarded , the firm created a collaborative approach to community planning that recognizes that in a small town everything is related to economic development .
Ayres used our team ’ s signature “ bullseye ” planning approach to quickly and effectively gather information from stakeholders while identifying key strategies to pursue .
