communication and management skills. He is a registered professional engineer
in Wisconsin and holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the
University of Wisconsin-Platteville. He is a member of the American Public Works
Association.
Ben Peotter is being promoted to manager of environmental services in the
development services division as of January 1. Supervising 13 staff members,
Peotter will oversee brownfield revitalization, planning, environmental impact
assessments and statements, environmental site assessments and remediation,
and landfill monitoring and engineering.
For 18 years Peotter has applied his analytical and
communication abilities to environmental and sustainability
projects. In addition to his experience in brownfield
redevelopment, Peotter has provided management or design
services on projects involving grant writing, environmental
investigation and remediation, landfill design and construction,
biogas-to-energy systems, feasibility studies for renewable
energy projects, geotechnical stability analysis, surface water
runoff design and analysis, regulatory permitting, and municipal engineering.
Peotter works very effectively with regulatory personnel.
Based in our Madison, Wisconsin, office, Peotter is a registered professional
engineer in Wisconsin and Minnesota and holds a bachelor’s degree in geological
engineering/geology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Manager receives utility coordination award
Jan Ash, manager of Ayres Associates’ Southeast Operations Municipal and
Utilities group, received the 2017 Malcolm Yancey Award from the Florida
Utilities Coordinating Committee (FUCC) – the organization’s most prestigious
honor, which is based on outstanding leadership.
Ash began attending FUCC meetings in the late 1980s. In addition to serving
as FUCC chairwoman, she is a long-time chairwoman of the Permitting
Subcommittee and has chaired several other subcommittees, including
Conference Planning, Programs, and Steering. In the past, Ash also led the
AutoCAD/MicroStation Translation Subcommittee.
Ash holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University
of South Florida and founded The Ash Group, which became
part of Ayres in 2016 and has been an emeritus sponsor of
