recognition for exemplary contributions to the profession. In addition to serving as class advisor for the Future Leaders Institute Class of 2015, Pulse has many years of active involvement as a member and on the ACEC Wisconsin Board of Directors.
Engineer Earns Award
Tristan Hickman, a traffic engineer in Ayres’ Waukesha office, is recipient of this year’ s Ken Voigt Younger Member Award. The award, sponsored and funded by Institute of Transportation Engineers Wisconsin Section, recognizes achievement by ITE members younger than 35. As part of the process, nominees write a paper about a transportation- or trafficrelated project they were involved with. Hickman’ s paper centered on a traffic engineering study for the City of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. Hickman’ s paper has been published in the Wisconsin Section Newsletter and the October 2015 edition of the ITE Journal, a national publication.
Alumni Award Given
Dave Pantzlaff, structural engineering manager in Ayres’ Eau Claire office, earned an Outstanding Alumni Award from the University of Wisconsin- Platteville’ s EMS Alumni Chapter this fall. Outstanding Alumni awards are presented annually at the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Science Graduating Senior and Alumni Recognition Dinner. The awards are intended to recognize alumni who have demonstrated excellence in professional and / or humanitarian endeavors. Pantzlaff, who earned his bachelor’ s degree in civil engineering from UW-Platteville in 1972, joined Ayres in 1978 as a project engineer. In 1990, he began managing the bridge operation, and the group has become the largest in Wisconsin dedicated to bridge design for local governments.
Promotions Announced
Effective January 4, Ayres Associates’ geospatial division will have two new managers in place. Jason Ingram will lead the land survey group, and Jason Krueger will become aerial mapping group manager.
Ingram, survey supervisor, joined Ayres in 1999. His responsibilities include leading survey crews for construction and design surveying on highway and bridge projects. He is a professional surveyor and mapper, professional land surveyor, and holds a bachelor’ s degree in land surveying from Michigan Technological University.
Krueger, who is a geospatial project manager, has been with Ayres since 2007 and came to the company with a decade of experience in mapping and GIS. He has worked as a technician and as a project manager for a broad range of mapping and land information services for the public and private sectors. His specialties include light detection and ranging( LiDAR) and photogrammetry project design, flight planning, and customized spatial data services. He is a certified photogrammetrist and holds a bachelor’ s degree in geography from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
