HAUG PROMOTED TO MANAGER OF WATER RESOURCES
Pete Haug has been named manager of Ayres ’ Water Resources group . Haug has been with Ayres for close to 14 years and was previously with the University of Iowa ’ s Institute of Hydraulic Research , where he worked as a research engineer and shop manager for over 11 years .
With his lengthy and respected tenure at Ayres , Haug is committed to leading his 10-person group in taking Ayres ’ solid multidisciplinary dam services to clients nationwide .
As a senior project manager , Haug has led dam inspection , hydraulic structure design , and spillway construction observation projects in several states across the Midwest and West . His work has helped position Ayres near the front of the pack among consultants helping clients to comply with new Federal Energy Regulatory Commission ( FERC ) rules – which were drafted in 2020 and took effect in 2022 – that require periodic comprehensive assessments of hydroelectric dams .
Haug holds professional engineer licensure in Wisconsin , Michigan , Ohio , Minnesota , Iowa , Nebraska , Colorado , Idaho , Montana , and Washington .
SOUTHEAST MUNICIPAL / CEI MANAGER HIRED
Neal Gresham has joined Ayres , bringing 38 years of previous experience with engineering consultants , a state department of transportation ( DOT ), and a construction contractor . As manager of the Municipal Design and CEI Group in our Southeast Division , Gresham plays a key role in shaping the future of this team , mentoring employee-owners , and representing Ayres in the Florida marketplace .
Gresham has managed large teams of professionals over the past two decades . His strategic and creative mindset has brought him success in leading project teams and entire business units . Gresham has demonstrated success within a range of project delivery methods , including design-build highway projects and traditional design-bid-build efforts .
Gresham is a registered professional engineer and is a member of the Construction Management Association of America , of which he was a chapter secretary from 2005 through 2007 .
THREE SUPERVISORS NAMED FOR STREAM & STORMWATER GROUP
The Stream and Stormwater Group within Ayres ’ Western Division has announced three supervisors who will provide
oversight for the highly specialized group of 32 experts based in Fort Collins , Colorado .
Dusty Robinson will supervise the river systems health discipline , focusing on stream restoration , stream stabilization , and post- and pre-fire mitigation projects such as those the group has performed for the cities of Loveland , Greeley , and Fort Collins , as well as providing dam removal and rehabilitation services in support of the Water Resources Group .
Dale Mathison will supervise the subsurface utility engineering ( SUE ) and survey discipline , focusing on continuing to grow our SUE team and supporting the growth of our local survey team , working closely with professional land surveyor Jeff Van Horn .
Dylan Armstrong will supervise the drainage and stormwater discipline , including local drainage projects in the DOT and local municipality transportation realms , as well as complex stormwater projects that include master planning and closed conduit projects , bringing better support for Ayres ’ multi-divisional projects and rebuilding the firm ’ s local Front Range stormwater presence .

Melissa Hunt joins Ayres , bringing nearly two decades of experience assisting communities with crafting and implementing effective economic development strategies .
