What resulted was a multi-year contract with Ames to provide survey / staking and UAS imagery on what has grown into a nearly $ 14 billion investment by Toyota to construct its battery manufacturing plant , which is expected to bring over 5,000 jobs to the megasite outside Greensboro , North Carolina . Although Ayres ’ physical presence in the state consisted of just two staff at that time , a broader team of professionals stepped up to assist , flying in from Ayres ’ nationwide network of offices to quickly mobilize and provide “ boots on the ground ” at the massive 1,800-acre site .
Ayres ’ contract with Ames extends through at least the end of 2024 . After the current project work concludes , Shank is optimistic that won ’ t be the end of the Ames-Ayres partnership .
