“ We ’ ve had the privilege of working with that team specifically on several projects ,” he said . “ That group has always looked at how roadways work for people rather than just for vehicles , and they did a good job of fitting as much as we could into that project as possible and also just making it very comfortable to walk along , to ride your bike along , things like that . They did a great job .”
The project has been so wellreceived , he said , that there ’ s already talk about what ’ s next .
“ We get a lot of comments from people who live on or around areas adjacent to Columbus Drive that say , ‘ When are you taking that section east or west ?’ So it ’ s been very , very popular ,” Hardie said . “ When people see it , it ’ s one of those that we point at and say , ‘ This is what we can do with more money .’ It ’ s a good rallying point in some ways , a good example of what ’ s possible with increased funds .”
