Previous and facing pages: Extending the length
of the existing bathroom provided space for a
sculptural tub and a level walk-in shower in this
beach house bathroom renovation by owner-
architect Wayne Houston. Distinctive 3D wave-
pattern tiles running behind the tub and shower
connect with the beach and bush setting. LED strip
lighting highlights the tilework from below.
Above: The standing basin works well with the
freestanding tub and takes up minimal floorspace,
while the wall-hung vanity cabinet echoes the
washbasin’s vertical, elongated form.
