The Value of HealthStream ePortfolio
The value of ePortfolio is to provide a digital record of
your career. An ePortfolio is a living resume to solidify
your skillset as a nurse and ensure you’re given credit and
honored for your accomplishments by both your direct
supervisor and your organization as a whole. ePortfolios
also offer an opportunity for reflection on the progress of
your career, solidify the value of life-long learning, and
provide inspiration for your future trajectory.
The value for a hospital administrator, nurse manager, or
supervisor resides in the ability to see a more complete
picture of who a healthcare professional is and what
they’ve accomplished. This information is valuable for
annual reviews, opportunities for advancement, or clinical
ladder programs with specific guidelines for certifications,
education, or other related requirements. According to
Wilson, an “e-Portfolio can represent an authentic means
of assessing cognitive, reflective and affective skills.”
