The MEPPP began as a jumping-off point to efficiently start a project , Studniski said , and has evolved into a powerful engineering tool using the strengths of the Autodesk Revit and real-time manufacturer data to perform engineering calculations and enhance interdisciplinary coordination .
With the process so helpful internally , Guither and his team decided to approach software developer CTC Software about teaming up to market and sell it to other engineering firms working on the mechanical , electrical , and plumbing designs .
“ Through our partnership with CTC Software and their technical staff , our combined forces have created a product that was better than either one of us could ’ ve created on our own ,” he said .
Challenges come in all sizes . This image shows all the linework and symbols developed to fit into a fraction-of-a-square-inch space .
Today , hundreds of design firms , contractors , educational institutions and universities , manufacturers , and even some large global private entities are using the MEPPP . The response has been so great , in fact , Guither has now released a metric version of the product for Canadian users .
“ The MEPPP revolutionizes how projects are designed and documents are produced ,” Studniski said . “ At the heart of it , that ’ s what it all comes down to .”
