In 2022 , I expect to see more wood , stone , and minimalist lines that reflect the simple and beautiful essence of nature . We will see plenty of black trims and deep tones to create texture and dimension in a room . Art Deco shapes and prints are coming back but the updated “ Great Gatsby ” style , will be more subtle to blend with the current trends . I expect more Art Deco light fixtures , shapes , and prints . The new wave of maximalism is to mix and match and take account of every space in your home so nothing feels unthought of . Don ’ t be afraid to experiment with colors and intricate details to really bring the personality out in your home .

For many over the past couple of years , life grounded to a halt and afforded time to focus on our living spaces , allowing homeowners to assess what aspects of their home evoke joy . Oftentimes , it is not the big-ticket items that make us feel warm and fuzzy ; it is the small ceramic bowl that was sourced directly from the artist , a handmade throw purchased on our last trip , or a locally made candle that smells just like your favorite childhood cereal . It ’ s the quirky things that come with a story and put a smile on your face . For the upcoming year , we expect to continue this renewed connection and interest in collecting profound and resonant objects that offer a deepened understanding of what truly sparks joy in our lives . - Designer Lisa Stevens , www . lisastevensco . com
