Our state has been unexpectedly impacted by the Covid-19 (Coronavirus), an international
health crisis. We are now living in a difficult and uncertain time that has forced statewide school
closures. Governor Bill Lee has recommended school districts remain closed through April 24.
It is still critical that we do everything possible to support the needs of our students, teachers,
and schools.
As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) spreads through the United States, the impact on student
instruction resulting from school closures will pose new challenges for teachers and
administrators alike, such that we have not dealt with before. Elected leaders across the nation
and world have taken appropriate actions. However, experts still tell us the risk of developing
severe illness from the new coronavirus, COVID-19, is low for most people, according to the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
