DRILLING TOOL GRADES HSS

Speed Steel Tooling

Produced entirely in HSS , ground with a very fine edge . Suitable only for non-abrasive materials , but will give a superior finish in soft timbers . Slightly less expensive than TCT , but is more suitable for certain applications i . e . drilling or cutting non-abrasive timbers & plastics .

Tungsten Carbide Tipped Tooling

TCT Tips are brazed onto a steel body . For use with the

most abrasive materials and will outlast HSS tooling by many times . Applications include cutting or drilling natural timbers , plywood , medium density fibre board , chipboard and abrasive plastics .

Carbon Steel Tooling

WS

Less durable than HSS , WS is extensively used in the production of forstner and countersink tooling for use on natural timbers . Offers a cost effective solution for many applications .

�� The body of the Trend Rosette drilling tool is made from tool steel which accurately supports a pair of removable Tungsten Carbide knives .

�� This tool should be used in a standing drill press , mill , lathe or a CNC drilling machine . The wide choice of removable knives ( not supplied ) allow a variety of rosette patterns to be created in medium density fibreboard ( MDF ).

�� The shank is 1 / 2 ” in diameter with three flats for non-slip .

�� Knives with outside spurs can be used to cut the rosette free to form a button .
