Treefort Magazine Issue Two | Page 5

WELCOME LETTER FROM THE EDITOR The second volume of Treefort Magazine is inspired by the beautiful era of the 70s. The spirit of the 70s was one of peace and freedom of expression. A generation tired of conformity, materialism, and the pursuit of perfection instead chose to embrace diversity and individuality. History repeats itself, and we are seeing these values emerge once again. Our desire for artistic expression and individuality makes free-spirited styles especially captivating. A longing for more peace, unity, and love within our nation has left many fashion trendsetters looking to the 70s for inspiration. Our team was inspired by these concepts and our sophomore issue sprang to life with a tone-setting cover shoot. Our obsession with the era grew as we found ways to incorporate the 70s vibe with color, texture, props, and hand-drawn illustrations by our designer, Alyssa Voegele. When styling our beautiful models we discovered current runway trends lent themselves nicely to our theme with 70s centric silhouettes and details in almost every lookbook we pulled from. Throughout this issue you'll notice 70s fashion interpreted in different styles, moods, and themes. From the romanticism of the wild west, the youthful era of the late 70s, to the iconic Woodstock trends that have left lasting impressions on the fashion industry—we desire to capture the spirit of individualism through the expression of wardrobe. We hope that as you read through this issue you enjoy exploring the trends that embody each style and are inspired to try a few of your own. 5
