www.treasurenetwork.wordpress.com TreasureMagazine7 TIME MANAGEMENT By Princess Comfort Ajuma Two students Moses and Wilson were given assignment from school and when they got back home, they decided to do the assignment. When they started, Wilson got distracted by the television set for a while before he returned to his books and got carried away when his phone rang, after dropping the call he decided to chat with friends on whatsapp from where he logged in to Facebook. While he was busy with his phone their friend John walked in and invited them to go see a movie everyone on campus have been anticipating for but Moses refused to go with them because he was busy with his assignment. Wilson joyfully went with John to see the movie leaving his assignment undone. This brings me to the topic time management. According to Merriam - Webster dictionary time is the measured or measurable period during which an action, process or condition exists or continues. Time is also an instance of something happening or being done. Time Management is the process of planning and exercising conscious control over the amount of time spent on specific activities especially to increase effectiveness, efficiency and productivity. Time management is a vital topic to be addressed most especially among the youths, because most youths don't know how to manage their time, they do the right thing at the wrong time therefore they lack effective result. Your life cannot be better than the things you spend your time doing and the type of people you spend your time with matters a lot. The purpose of time management is to get more and better work done in less time, to increase productivity and efficiency and also to accomplish goals. What you spend your time doing determines your productivity, therefore make good use of your time to get effective results. In the illustration, Wilson did not finish up his assignment because he was procrastinating and lacked self control and allowed himself to be distracted, therefore he could not achieve his goal which was his assignment.
