A tornado touched down in Vero Beach, creating mild damage to a mobile home park, however there were no injuries reported. Power was interrupted as FPL teams checked for downed lines and made the area safe again.
Mayhem reigned in all Treasure Coast cities, as motorists were left stranded when their vehicles did not clear deep water and some roads collapsed and were closed off.
Some intrepid residents broke out their kayaks and paddled to their destinations.
By Tuesday, although still wet and flooded, it was business as usual as people went about their tasks as though nothing had happened. That's the toughness of the South - ride it out and continue as normal, while we offer up prayers for those on the Gulf - prayers that there will not be a repetition of Hurricane Katrina, that left Louisiana so devastated.
