Fort Pierce

6 - TCnbc Magazine

If one travels down Indian Drive, one will experience the Intracoastal waterway on one side and some of the most beautiful and gracious homes in Florida. Almost all of these homes have Intracoastal views and some even have their own jetties to moor boats. Some old, some new but all are desirable.

Across the bridge, lies the beautiful Hutchinson Island with the Intracoastal waterway on the west side and the ocean to the east. Highrises, single family residences and communties abound for those looking for a slice of Flordian heaven at affordable prices.

For those with a slightly larger budget, larger homes are available in every shape and size, to suit every taste.

White, sandy beaches for lazy days or Archies Restaurant - a landmark in the area - where you can experience anything from a burger and a beer to the annual motor cycle rally or just enjoy your Sunday religious fellowship! Archies is the place!

From golf, to watersports, to hiking or bird-watching, Fort Pierce has it all!

Whatever you do, bring your camera! The flora and fauna are truly worth capturing!

Fort Pierce often gets a bad rep as a place not to buy property, but have I got news for you? Like so many cities throughout the world, there's a good part of 'town' and a 'not-so-good' part of town! Doesn't every city have them?

Fort Pierce has some quaint older homes - yes, they are wood-framed structures, because that's what they built, back in the day - which have charm, character and (here's the best part:) they're affordable! Fort Pierce, unlike its neighbor, Port St Lucie, tends to have larger lots.

Close to historic 'Downtown' Fort Pierce, where one can take in a theater performance with an affordable, but delicious dinner afterwards, or just meander through the streets lined with quaint stores.

Fort Pierce has some picturesque buildings that have been maintained or restored, which adds to its charm.

Visit any one of the numerous museums or art galleries and learn the fascinating history of early Florida, the railroad industry, the Navy Seals or the Seminole Indians - all intriguing and most of it, little known.
