The participants reflected that their main concern with regards to committing to a long-term program such as this would be time and interest. However, being able to apply what they have learnt, creating a tangible output, and being able to work with friends were some of the factors which would motivate them. The efficacy of this project can be measured by the number of participating teams, successful applications created and feedback from the participants. Practical Assessment : Rank 2 (Intermediate) Maathi Yosi | 2019 60 The one solution that most participants agreed upon was the likes of a hackathon. Traditionally, hackathons target individuals who are technologically competent to work towards a certain goal. However, participants were of the opinion that this can be downscaled for those with less knowledge but keen interest in coding and App development. The hackathon could be targeted at students pursuing post secondary school education. The hackathon would require a series of training sessions and mentorship, by industry experts, to provide guidance and impart knowledge. Upon acquiring these skills, the participants will be able to apply what they have learnt to build an output.
