Issue 6: Lack of interest in entrepreneurship
Youths expressed a lack of interest in entrepreneurship due to the inherent risk in
being an entrepreneur and the lack of information and knowledge available.
TRCYW has co-organized with NTU TLS to launch Vanigavettai, a program to
ignite the entrepreneurial spirit among youth and groom confident entrepreneurs.
It offers entrepreneurial scenarios, networking opportunities and information on
current industrial and market needs.
Issue 7: Interpreting Socio-Politics & current Socio-Political issues
In general, there is need for awareness and education on socio-politics as Tamil
youth are not actively involved in socio-political issues. Awareness campaigns to
educate and facilitate self-learning, focus group discussions, panel discussions
with key figures and establishing a blog were suggested to increase youth
involvement and promote a higher level of independent socio-political
engagement.
