SOCIO-POLITICS Recommendations It is important to note that the willingness of Tamil youth to be actively involved in addressing socio-political issues is low. As shown in figure 12, fewer than 5% of respondents claimed that they were interested and involved in understanding Singapore’s socio-political scene. Organisers of focus group discussions and the blog initiative should note that this could be limiting factor in implementing the initiatives. In line with our objectives of educating, facilitating learning, and fostering discussion, we aim to see a generally higher level of independent socio-political engagement and involvement by youth. Participants from the focus group discussions could be invited to write for the blog. The articles could be used to assess their level of engagement in socio politics and the shift in perceptions.
