COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT Recommendations Education on Racial Awareness Programs to improve racial awareness must be implemented at all levels. As seen in figure 8, awareness campaigns were favoured most by respondents. We could collaborate with community organisations and social influencers to implement creative and innovative long-term programs to promote greater understandings of others amongst students. Examples include working with popular social influencers such as Preetipls to highlight the negative Indian stereotypes and plan follow up activities to engage individuals on their personal negative racial stereotypes to eradicate it. These would primarily be aimed at students aged 7 and above. We hope to see students demonstrate greater appreciation for others. This could be gauged through brief quizzes as well as presentations by the students on their understanding of different races and cultures. Due to the sensitive nature of the topic, it may be difficult to find community organisations and social influencers to support this initiative. * Source: Findings from ground survey Practical Assessment: Rank 2 (Intermediate) Maathi Yosi | 2019 27
