ARTS ARTS & & LANGUAGE LANGUAGE Recommendations The development of an online novel, short story and poetry publishing blog During the discussions, it was apparent that the youth did have an interest in writing short stories. This was supported by the ground survey, with more than half of the participants expressing a general interest in the literary arts (figure 4). The development of an online platform creates a channel for youth to gain recognition and to legitimize their work- be it in novel writing, short-story writing or poetry writing. It is hoped that individuals will be able pursue both novel writing and poetry writing as a passion, or simply for leisure. To ensure the efficacy of this platform, (measured through the number of submissions, views and shares) partnering with other organisations, like the Association of Singapore Tamil Writers, is proposed. This will ensure a collection of original user generated stories and poem in the long run. * Source: Findings from ground survey This blog aims to specifically, encourage and develop youth interest in reading Tamil novels, while promoting Tamil writing.
