TRCYW Maathi Yosi Report 2019 | Page 9

Limitations While the Maathi Yosi report is based on the data gathered through qualitative and quantitative methods, there are several limitations which must be noted. The respondents of our ground survey largely comprised of students. Out of 101 responses, 82 were shared by students. This suggests more research has to be done to identify the needs of working adults aged above 25. The participants from the Maathi Yosi seminar mostly represented tertiary institutions. Few participants representing polytechnics, Institute of Technical Education and junior colleges were present. A lack of representation of participants from different age groups and educational background could have been a limiting factor. There was a lack of diverse views as a result. To gather different viewpoints, an alternative platform could be explored to solicit feedback from individuals representing different institutions. The views shared may not necessarily be consistent or representative of the views shared by the Tamil youth in Singapore. Hence, frequent discussions could be held over a long time period to improve the reliability of our findings. Maathi Yosi | 2019 8
