LETTER FROM CEO
In conjunction with the safety and IT protocols that allowed us to physically continue working , we recognized early on that new connections and communication channels would be essential to manage change . Our People Committee helped our leadership team stay connected to the priorities of our greatest asset , our people . From coffee breaks , concerts , townhall chats and other online forums – we continue to find new ways to bridge the social distance and build transparency and trust with our people as we maneuver through the issues impacting all of our lives .
2020 was an exceptional year with an unprecedented public health crisis , social unrest , devastating wildfires and other climate effects that impacted our economy , the way we do business and the very way we live our lives . But while the year brought uncertainty and collective anxiety , it also gave us a sharper lens on systemic risk , resilience and the need for sustainable solutions .
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic , TRC immediately implemented our business continuity plans and built out robust remote work systems to enable our team of almost 6,000 employees to work safely and effectively from home . As both a people-first and outcomes-focused business , we prioritized fiscal management to retain talent and remain financially healthy during this difficult period . As essential workers supporting critical infrastructure , our teams found innovative ways to respond to client needs , including leveraging our technical experts to deliver new COVID-19 safety services such as Adenosine triphosphate ( ATP ) testing and indoor air quality services .
Our organizational resilience depends on diverse perspectives . In response to the tragic events involving the senseless death of George Floyd and those that came before , we reaffirmed our commitment to Diversity & Inclusion and acknowledged that as a brand , an organization and a people , we need to be a part of the change . To build on our existing efforts , we formalized a D & I Committee in 2020 , with corporate committee members sponsoring regional chapters to advance D & I at the local level and involve all of TRC in creating a more diverse future for our company , our employees and our communities . We also expanded our Unconscious Bias training beyond our leadership team to all employees this year .
Like the global pandemic , climate change impacts both lives and livelihoods . We are pleased to see climate action gathering pace , with cities , companies and countries committing to net zero emissions with increasing frequency and accountability , but also recognize that there is still much to be done to ensure a just energy transition . We are proud to contribute to the advancement of clean and resilient energy technologies in an increasingly electric world . In FY20 we , once again , achieved substantial growth in our clean energy services resulting in a 340 % increase in revenue for that offering over the past four years . Our work in the renewable energy space - from land acquisition to permitting to engineering and construction – has supported the development of almost 1,000 renewable energy projects to date , bringing approximately 10,000 MW to market .
