Giving Back Throughout the Year
Members of TRC’s Houston Park Ten office have
been working with a local elementary school in their
community to organize charitable donations and
events. Throughout the year, TRC employees worked
with the Hutsell Elementary school in Houston. Six
TRC Houston employees volunteered their time to
assist with a seven different fourth grade classes’ field
trips to a local park for fishing. Events rotated between
fishing, mini golf, art stations, and other activities.
The entire office collected school supplies for the
upcoming school year, which they dropped off in
mid-August. Special thanks to Ashley Wagner and
Heather Butler, who were the main organizers of
this volunteer effort.
Our Fort Wayne TRC office has adopted a greenway
through the Fort Wayne Adopt-A-Greenway program.
This program allows different groups and businesses
to adopt a portion of the bike/walkways throughout
the city and pick up trash and provide a better
environment for our city, waterways, and environment.
Each Spring and Fall the Fort Wayne TRC office
picks a Saturday and goes out to pick up along the
trail. This provides team bonding, team work, and
community service for our trails, along with a fun
activity to get to know our coworkers outside the
office. It is a wonderful feeling knowing that our
pick-ups make a difference in our local community!
There are so many ways to get involved with and support the community. Whether it be donations,
volunteering time, or doing fundraisers. Each effort helps show that TRC has a commitment to our
communities. Thank you to offices for your volunteer efforts!
