Materials Management
We are also committed to minimizing our material
inputs and maximizing recycling opportunities
associated with our operational footprint and service
delivery. Because most of the waste created in our
offices is paper, we use paper as a proxy for waste
reduction. We work with our vendor to track paper
purchased in offices and encourage paper-saving
behaviors with our employees.
Since FY15, increased awareness and changed
behaviors reduced our paper usage by 49%,
normalized to Net Revenue
TRC has committed
to the Recycling
at Work Pledge
sponsored by Keep
America Beautiful.

Work initiative.
We also continue to explore opportunities to procure
recyclable and/or resource-efficient materials for field-
work. Communicating these best practices contributes
to reduced environmental impact while maximizing
financial considerations.
Significant Spills
We are committed to ensuring recycling programs
are implemented in all offices where recycling options
exist. We also have several national contracts that
offer recycling and take-back programs for non-
traditional items, including printer cartridges, batteries
and electronics.
Currently 95% of our offices report recycling
at least one waste stream
Our field projects often involve the use of portable
equipment and chemical storage that could potentially
impact the environment if a release were to occur.
We recognize the threats that material spills can pose
to communities and the environment, and we take
steps to ensure that good management practices
are employed to avoid these incidents. TRC had no
reportable spills in FY19.
