Engaging in Our Communities
Teaming with our Clients
TRC is dedicated to supporting the communities in which we live and work. In FY16, we partnered with clients to advance the following community engagement projects:
San Diego Gas & Electric Company TRC worked with San Diego Gas & Electric Company( SDG & E), along with The Escondido Creek Conservancy, to restore The Escondido Conservancy lands. Efforts in FY15 included coordination between the parties to identify the area that would be restored and determine required restoration activities. In FY16, TRC was involved in several coordination meetings and a field review of the proposed restoration sites, along with planting vegetation and shrubs and completing cleanup work.
American Electric Power In collaboration with American Electric Power( AEP) and urban foresters at the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and the City of Gahanna, Ohio, we support the Grange Insurance Audubon Center’ s( GIAC’ s) use of i-Tree, a publicly available software suite provided online by the United States Department of Agriculture. i-Tree calculates the positive impact of trees and shrubs on the urban landscape and will be used to measure the environmental and economic benefits of GIAC’ s Audubon At Home program.
Audubon at Home provides a range of practical ways that citizens can use to create more natural habitats around their homes and improve environmental impact of their properties. A GIAC goal for the Audubon At Home program is to“ lead a measurable decrease in carbon emissions and air pollution, as well as lead a measurable increase in storm water uptake, air pollutant absorption, and avian habitat in the Columbus Metro Area.”
ExxonMobil ExxonMobil and TRC’ s project team in New Jersey donated 539 pounds of food to the Hillside Food Bank. through the Get Caught Working Safely ticket program at the local Exxon site over a two-month period.
